Mission Statement: “My mission is to inspire seniors everywhere to enjoy happy healthy productive lives by taking good care of ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, staying connected to others, and seeking our purpose. This is a wonderful season in life and I feel we should seize every opportunity to transform senior moments into golden moments!”
“I had a long and wonderful career as a licensed speech pathologist with an active private practice in geriatrics,” says Jan. “I first became acquainted with senior living while treating patients for stroke recovery, swallowing disorders, traumatic brain injuries, Parkinson’s Disease, etc.—all of which took me into rehabilitation hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and in private homes. I also served on Hospice teams.
“During those years, I witnessed countless examples of amazing courage and the will to survive. My patients and their caregivers taught me much. They mentored me as they touched, humbled, and inspired me in unexpected ways. I was privileged to know them.
“My interest in senior citizens and the issues we face soon grew to the point where I began writing columns and producing-hosting television programs to address concerns of men and women over 60. My goal is to inform, educate, inspire, motivate, and—as often as possible–to entertain.”
Jan is also a community theatre actress, writer, emcee, philanthropist, and a popular and frequent speaker at ”Successful Aging Expos” for seniors.
